This pick arises mainly because Travaglia is scheduled to play Rome Masters qualies in a few days, also the draw is big this year and there should be 3 rounds starting on Friday. Actually Stefano might still hope to take the WC reserved for Sonego if the latter manages to enter the main draw by himself, but he is currently 9 positions behind and Travaglia cannot rely on it. Stefano hasn't set foot in Rome for 6 years, I don't think he can skip the local Masters to play this Challenger, a couple of matches should be enough as preparation. I can't even say his form is decent as Travaglia is 1-2 since the restart and was quite erratic in each of them. Here in R1 the Italian even dropped a set to a local kid, so his only win came over an easy opponent. Popko should win this though perhaps not on his own merits, but it doesn't matter.
